Hounslow Council partnered with JAM Creative agency to participate in “Love Parks Week”, an annual campaign by Keep Britain Tidy. The goal was to create a series of short films highlighting the borough's green spaces, emphasising the council's dedication to environmental sustainability and community involvement.
Each film was narrated by either a council member, community worker or volunteer and focused on various aspects of Hounslow's greenery.
This included the recognition of Hounslow as the first local authority to map its urban forest and to develop an app to a celebration of specific parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty, such as Boston Manor Park, Heston Park, Bridge House Pond, and Bedfont Lakes Country Park.
Filming was an intricate process, spanning two days and encompassing more than 15 different locations. The objective at each location was to capture a blend of interviews with the different narrators as well as filming the lush greenery while capturing positive interactions with residents.
Following the production phase, the films underwent expert editing and were promptly delivered to secure approval from multiple stakeholders, ensuring a successful campaign launch. In addition, a library of raw footage was delivered for use in future promotional content.
The outcome exceeded expectations, garnering hundreds of thousands of views across various platforms and receiving numerous positive comments. The campaign effectively celebrated the council's ongoing efforts to enhance green spaces in one of London's busiest areas.
