When Opayo, formerly known as Sage, sought to capture a series of customer testimonials to showcase the effectiveness of their accounting software in various businesses, they turned to JAM Creative Agency for their expertise. The goal was to create testimonial films that authentically highlighted how Opayo's service played a crucial role for businesses of all sizes. This involved traversing the UK and Europe to gather not only testimonials but also relevant footage that would complement each customer's story.
The first testimonial featured residential architects Poulsom/Middleshurst and was shot across multiple locations in London, all within a single day. To maintain authenticity, the individuals giving testimonials were not professional actors. Consequently, great care was taken on set to ensure their performances felt relaxed and natural. In post-production, compositing techniques were employed, especially with computer and smartphone screens, to showcase the Sage software as intended.
Each film in the series required meticulous planning and extensive pre-production to ensure all elements were in place for the shoot days, which spanned the UK and Europe. The emphasis was on capturing genuine testimonials, requiring the crew to adapt on the spot to ensure the relevant footage aligned with each story. Despite the complexity of this production, which spanned months and involved multiple stakeholders in the sign-off process, the result was a cohesive, engaging, and cinematic campaign that brought to life the personal stories at the heart of an accounting software.
